Geofencing is a software feature that, through GPS, defines geographical boundaries. When a device enters or exits a determined area, an alert (or event) can be triggered using Ubidots.

Open your Ubidots account, and select Events

To create a new event, click the yellow plus icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

Then choose a device and associating variable that indicates the devices' "position".
Click here for additional information to sending your device's location to Ubidots.

Next, choose "Location" from the dropdown and determine when to trigger an event if upon entry or exit.

And then select to "Add Geofence" and draw the boundary on the map that appears:

Finally, configure the Alert or notification to be an SMS, Email, Telegram, Webhook, Slack Event or Phone Call to keep the App users informed and on-time.
