Control widgets such Switch or Slider allows easy remote device control right from Ubidots Dashboards.

1. Create a Switch widget
The "Switch" widget is a simple on/off function that remotely controls a device using variable settings of "1" or "0". For example, you have connected a device to your garage door. By setting a variable to "1" a user can open the garage door. Conversely a "0" command will close the door.
Following the below steps you will be able to create a Switch widget to shift a variable between defined states:
Step 1: Click on the top-right "+" button. Drawer menu with widgets options opens.
Step 2: Click on Switch. Drawer menu displays setup options.
Step 3: Add the variables to control.
IMPORTANT NOTE: if widget is Dynamic, that is, on a Dynamic Dashboard, you need to write down the labels of the variables to control.
Step 4: Enter On/Off values and messages.
Step 5: Choose color with the color picker.
Step 6: Name the widget to display a title.
Step 7: Save the configuration.

2. Create a Slider widget
The "Slider" widget let users enter data in a given range, whether to control devices remotely or simply log values manually.
Following the below steps you will be able to create a Slider widget to enter values to a variable in a range or fixed steps:
Step 1: Click on the top-right "+" button.
Step 2: Click on Slider.
Step 3: Add the variables to control.
IMPORTANT NOTE: if the widget is Dynamic, that is, on a Dynamic Dashboard, you need to write down the labels of the variables.
Step 4: Select one from the below 2 operating options:
– Range of values defined by:
Maximum value
Minimum value
Step of value increments
– Set Custom steps: Fixed positional values with optional text labels and color.
Distribute steps evenly toggle: displays steps at the same distance when the steps are not sequential.
Enter at least 2 Steps with the value, optional Text label and Color.
Step 5: Choose color with the color picker. Overwritten in case of Custom steps
Step 7: Fill the Appearance section.
