We've been playing with the Linkit One boards for a while and recommended them to some users. The Linkit features GPS, GPRS, WiFi & Bluetooth in a single board, making it perfect for IoT projects.
We found that many users ignore a simple but mandatory step: Updating the Firmware. This is why we put together this 1-minute screencast of how it's done using Mac OSX.
The process should be similar in Windows. For more information, refer to the official Mediatek Labs guides.
NOTE: The MS/UART switch should be in "MS" mode!
When done, switch the board back to "UART" mode and go to your Arduino IDE. You should see the Linkit Port:
